New 2023 Jaguar I-Pace arrives with design tweaks and new trim levels

Jaguar has given its I-Pace electric SUV a mid-life refresh, with subtle exterior changes and a new flagship 400 Sport model

Since the Jaguar I-Pace launched in 2018, a raft of new competitors have stormed the electric car market, and the British firm is updating its battery-powered SUV for 2023 to stay in contention. Armed with a host of new design details and a restructured trim line-up, the new I-Pace is available to order now from £69,995.

The I-Pace’s squat, cab-forward proportions remain, but there’s a smoother front grille panel finished in grey rather than black, along with a new black and silver Jaguar logo. The front air intake blades are also finished in grey, while lower bodywork elements - including the door sills and rear diffuser - are now body colour.

New satin grey paint shades are offered too, and the window surrounds, door mirrors and rear badges are now coloured black as standard.

As before, the sole powertrain option is a four-wheel-drive dual electric motor setup, which offers 395bhp and 696Nm of torque. The I-Pace sprints from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, and thanks to a 90kWh battery pack, it can travel up to 292 miles from a single charge. These figures are unchanged from the outgoing model.

Thanks to 100kW DC charging capability, 78 miles of range can be added in just 15 minutes, while a full charge using an 11kW home wallbox takes just over eight and a half hours. Owners can configure their car to accept energy during off-peak periods too, and a charge capacity limit can be set to prolong the life of the cells.

Charging functions and vehicle preconditioning can be operated through an updated Jaguar Remote smartphone app, and I-Pace customers can also access the brand’s public charging network, which is made up of third-party operators.

The I-Pace’s cabin design is unchanged for 2023, and it continues to offer the firm’s Pivi Pro infotainment system as standard. This centres around a 10-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard, along with a smaller climate control display and a fully digital instrument panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Alexa voice control and over-the-air update capability.

Kicking off the restructured range is the I-Pace R-Dynamic S, which costs £69,995 - a jump of £3,645 over the outgoing S model. The £73,495 R-Dynamic SE Black sits above this, with the R-Dynamic HSE Black priced at £77,495. Each of these three models receives diamond cut alloy wheels, while satin grey 22-inch items featuring carbon fibre inserts are also available.

The range-topping 400 Sport model includes gloss black 22-inch wheels, a rear lip spoiler and adaptive air suspension, along with 14-way adjustable heated and cooled front seats trimmed in Windsor leather. The new flagship variant costs £79,995.
