Bugatti-Palmer Johnson Niniette 66 superyacht is the Chiron of the seas

New superyacht takes on Chiron's looks and has been created by boatmaker Palmer Johnson

The new £1.9 million, 1,479bhp Bugatti Chrion now has a soul mate at sea. Called the Niniette 66 it’s a 20-metre superyacht created by Bugatti in tandem with yachtmaker Palmer Johnson, featuring a design echoing the new hypercar’s looks and limited to 66 examples.

It’s yet another luxury yacht from a luxury carmaker, following in the footsteps of Jaguar, Aston Martin and Lexus.

Looking at the yacht side-on it’s easy to spot how it resembles Bugatti’s Veyron replacing Chiron. The large, sweeping lines where the air intakes are placed on the car transition onto the boat, though here the lines curve up to create the yacht’s superstructure. The hull and deck are both made from carbon-fibre, and buyers can apply a two-tone Chiron inspired colour scheme too.

When it comes to power and performance, the differences between the Niniette 66 and the Chiron are more evident. While the car gets a quad-turbocharged W16 engine producing 1,479bhp, the yacht is actually less powerful. A 1,000bhp V8 engine developed by MAN means a top speed of 44 knots – almost 51mph. A more powerful 1,200bhp engine is on the options list, but only pushes up the top speed by 5 knots to 55mph.

The deck is trimmed with carbon fibre, leather, and most strikingly natural blue morta oak. The lower deck is home to a Jacuzzi, while a sun lounging pad and drinks bar is placed in the middle. A small fire pit sits ahead of the Jacuzzi too. Up front, the driver gets a Bugatti steering wheel and a huge set of digital binnacles and instruments.

Below deck is a lounge featuring furniture and decorations made from carbon-fibre, leather and marble. A large Bugatti horseshoe overlooks the salon. Adjacent to the lounge is a master bedroom with a double bed and bathroom. Buyers will be offered plenty of customisation options when it comes to the yacht’s interior, though an exact price for the Niniette 66 has yet to be revealed.
