Fragment Chopin

1. Her name was Candace, and she met the trains as they came through town waving at the passengers. You never knew if you’d see them again, if ever. 

2. His name was Tom and he had a famous last name, but he himself was not famous. Drew his nightmares onto a long scroll and the monsters went away. You needed the horrors out of your sleep, and onto the page.

3. Her name was Yvette and she knew magic. Gave me sequins to hold in my sweaty hands and told me all would be mine. You never know when all will be revealed. 

4. His name was Kenny and he was my best friend growing up and he made me laugh. Showed me a picture of his sister — one I’d never seen before — in a wheelchair her eyes closed, hands curled in fists. She was Joy.
