Writing is a good life, not a good living

Writing is a good life, not a good living should be a tattoo I have emblazoned in black ink upon my chest. I’d do it because it’s largely true (I mean writing books you think people will buy in droves and read).

Even when you hit it big, and the odds of that happening are astronomically high against you, the money doesn’t roll in or last.

This is why it’s important for anyone thinking about going into the writing business to fully understand the economics of it.

Foolishly, I didn’t.

Ask my financial adviser.
