Revising at Large

I’ve have a love/hate relationship with coffeehouses, especially as places to write. Never truly bought into the idea that a place with caffeine drinking traffic, kitchen-noise, cell-phone-talkers, company men setting up ersatz offices, and a shuffling soundtrack not of your choosing were all that and a bag of coffee beans. But I keep trying. I do so because the writer who is also an introvert simply must get out there from time to time to check in with reality. I do so with the caveat that my work at large is never as pristine as the work I complete at my desk, with my own music and my own traffic (mostly ebullient Chihuahuas and Shi-Poo-Poos).
