New 2023 Jaguar F-Pace receives improved plug-in hybrid powertrain

More all-electric range for F-Pace PHEV as Jaguar revises mid-size SUV

2023 will see the F-Pace range streamlined as Jaguar looks to make its BMW X3 rival better than ever. Technology upgrades and efficiency improvements have arrived and the new F-Pace can be ordered now from £48,660.

The plug-in hybrid F-Pace joined the ranks in 2021 with a 17.1kWh battery but that’s been upped to 19.2kWh for 2023. The result of this is an improved range - standing at 40 miles rather than the previous 33 miles.

That extra range drops the plug-in version into the 8 per cent Benefit-in-Kind tax bracket for company car buyers making the F-Pace more affordable. Overall efficiency has also been improved with official figures of 176.6mpg and 37g/km of CO2.

Alongside the PHEV, the F-Pace continues to be offered with 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel or petrol motors with 201bhp and 247bhp respectively. There's also the option of 3.0-litre straight-six diesel and petrol engines, with the former providing 296bhp and the latter generating 395bhp. As before, the thunderous, V8-powered F-Pace SVR heads the lineup with 542bhp - making for a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds and top speed of 178mph.

The entry-level diesel is the cheapest model available, costing from £48,660 and sitting below the £52,415 2.0-litre petrol. The six-cylinder diesel model is next up at £60,275, with the PHEV commanding an extra £710. The 3.0-litre petrol version is priced at £69,280, with the SVR topping the range at £84,940. All models are fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive.

Jaguar is simplifying its trim line-up for the 2024 model year F-Pace, with the 2.0-litre petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models available in three guises. The R-Dynamic S specification includes 19-inch alloys, a digital instrument panel, Amazon Alexa voice control, a rear-view camera adaptive cruise control and a Pivi Pro infotainment setup on an 11.4-inch central screen, which offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

Wireless smartphone charging is bundled in too, along with a what3words navigation system and over-the-air update capability to improve software functionality during the car’s lifecycle. For additional cost, R-Dynamic SE Black trim gets 20-inch wheels, gloss black exterior trims and more standard equipment, such as an interactive driver display and black suede headlining. R-Dynamic HSE models receive additional kit and larger 21-inch alloys.

The 3.0-litre diesel F-Pace can only be ordered in the two higher trim levels, with the petrol-powered straight-six arriving with its own 400 Sport specification, including 22-inch wheels and 16-way heated and ventilated seats.

The flagship SVR trim is also confined to a single model and comes with a bespoke bodykit, unique 22-inch wheels and larger brakes.
