Deal of the Day: Hot £218 per month deal on a Cupra Leon warm hatch

A sporty, family-sized hatchback on a £218 a month lease? It had to be our Deal of the Day for November 1st

  • Hot hatch looks with family hatch running costs
  • Generous equipment levels
  • £218 a month for 24 months

We like the SEAT Leon, we like the slightly sportier Cupra Leon and we like low cost lease deals. It’s little wonder then, that today’s Deal of the Day is this £218 a month lease offer on the entry-level Cupra Leon family hatchback.

Our eagle-eyed, penny pinching experts found this deal from Leasing Options on Leasing.com and it amounts to two years with a new Cupra Leon 1.5 TSI in V1 spec for £217.84p a month. The initial payment required is £1,960 and there are £300 of fees to find but that’s all that stands between you and this very fetching VW Group car on your drive.

The Cupra brand is finding its feet well in the UK market but even those for whom it’s still an unfamiliar proposition will have heard of the Volkswagen Golf with which the Cupra Leon shares much of its make-up. The Leon might not be on the cutting edge of automotive technology these days but it’s a solid product that’s fun to drive and has a lot of standard equipment, even in entry-level V1 form.

The standard kit list includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a digital instrument display and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. There’s also three-zone climate control and adaptive cruise control.

In the engine bay is the familiar 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine that’s used in so many Volkswagen Group products. It’s in 148bhp form here with a manual gearbox, delivering a respectable 8.9s 0-62mph time. The official combined fuel economy stands at 48mpg.

The Cupra Leon is a little longer and wider than the Golf on which it’s based but also lower, something that contributes to the sporty looks. The 380-litre boot is decent for the class but a little down on the VW’s size-wise.

The car is a sound all-rounder and at £218 a month it’s hard to argue with the value side. If you prefer a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) deal Cupra is currently offering a £1,500 deposit contribution so you could get one direct for £100 extra a month over 48-months with a £6,200 deposit. That’s with a 10,000 mile mileage limit, whereas our lease package has a 5,000-mile limit. Extend to 10,000 miles and the lease price is £249 with a £2,539 initial payment.

As always with our Deal of the Day selections, prices and offers are subject to change, while terms and conditions apply.Get the Cupra Leon lease deal here or take a look at yesterday’s Deal of the Day...
