Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario twins debut

Alfa’s celebrating 100 years of its Quadrifoglio badge with an updated take on its high performance models

Hot on the heels of the recently updated Giulia and Stelvio, Alfa Romeo has now revealed the flagship Quadrifoglio models initially to be available in this special 100th Anniversario form. Just like the standard models, the new Quadrifoglios have a few tech updates here and there, but also feature more significant mechanical changes that should improve the already brilliant super saloon and SUV.

These begin with a slight increase in power from the twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 engine which has gone from 503bhp to 512bhp, joined by the same 600Nm of torque that’s produced between 2,500 and 5,000rpm. Both Giulia and Stelvio run an eight-speed torque converter-style automatic transmission, but now feature a new purely mechanical limited-slip differential on both the rear-drive saloon and all-wheel drive SUV.

The new differential replaces the previous electronically-controlled differential, which on Giulia models was the subject of some criticism - potentially remedying one of the car’s few dynamic flaws. Standard wheel sizes are 19-inches for the Giulia and 21-inches for the Stelvio, and both come with the usually optional titanium Akrapovic exhaust.

The 100 Anniversario models will be available in three colour options, including the Verde Montreal as seen in these images, paired to commemorative cloverleaf badges on the front wings and new gold-finish to the brake calipers.

Inside the cabin, the standard black and Alcantara interior trim is highlighted with gold stitching across the seats, door cards and dashboard. It also comes with a carbon fibre interior trim package, and more ‘100 Anniversario’ badges on the steering wheel and floor mats.

As well as the bespoke elements drawn from the special edition, both Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio also now pick up the new digital dial pack, one that now features a fourth ‘Race’ display mode that centralises a single rev-counter and speedometer. These join the existing three display modes that include a ‘Heritage’ option that channels the aesthetic found on analogue dials used in Alfa’s classic models from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Both also pick up new triple-element LED headlights, sharpening the exterior design.

No local prices or specifications have yet been revealed by Alfa Romeo, but the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario cars will be will be available in the UK later this year.
